A PRAYER FOR HELP WHEN TROUBLES ABOUND.( Psalm 40)

1. David's situation?

A. Troubles without number surround David. ( Psa.40:12),

B. Many are desiring to take David's life. ( 40:14 a)

C. Many are desiring David's ruin. ( 40:14 b) 

D. Many are saying Aha, Aha, at the problems of David.( 40:15)

E. David's situation was in a slimy pit, in mud and mire. (40:2)

2. David's prayer and how God responded?

A. David waited patiently for the LORD. ( Psa. 40:1 a)

B. GOD turned to David and heard his cry. ( 40:1 b) 

3. What GOD did to David?

A. GOD lifted David out of the slimy pit. ( Psa.40:2 a)

B. GOD lifted David out of the mud and mire. (40:2 b)

C. GOD set David's feet on a  rock. (40:2 c)

D. GOD gave David a strong place to stand. (40: 2 d)

E. GOD put a new song in David's mouth. (40:3 a)

F. God put a hymn of praise to our God. (40:3 b)

G. The wonders and things you have done are too many. (40:5 d)

4. What are David's desires?

A. David desires to do God's will. (40:8 a)
(God's law is within David's heart) (40:8 b)

B. David desires to proclaim God's righteousness in the great assembly. (40:9 a)
( David does not seal his lips) 40:9 b

C. David desires to speak of God's faithfulness and salvation. ( 40:10 b)
( David does not hide God's righteousness in his heart) (40:10 a)

5. David's prayer about his enemies.

A. LORD, come quickly to save me from my enemies and from my problems.( Psa.40: 13)

B. May my enemies be put to shame and confusion. (40:14 a)

C. May my enemies be turned back in disgrace. (40:14 b)

D. May my enemies be appalled at their own shame. (40:15)

God answered David's prayer( Psa.40:2,3)

Are we going through big problems and facing lots of enemies?

Like David, let us pray and wait patiently for the LORD. 

GOD who answered the prayers of David and honoured him is able to do great things in our life also.
